MA Clifford was participating in an operation to destroy an enemy schooner.
Clifford covertly portaged a dinghy across the narrow neck of land separating the sea from the sound then Launching the boat in the sound to engage the enemy.
Clifford and his crew approached the enemy from the rear and Clifford gallantly crept into the rebel camp and reconnoitered the situation then he ordered a charge.
The enemy was routed, Clifford and his men captured a schooner laden with much needed supplies.
