mathewsAmerican forces clashed with the enemy resulting in several casualties.

Dr. Mathews was operating out of a hasty field aid station, under heavy enemy fire, when he and his patients were swarmed and attacked by rebels.

This apparently angered the Dr. as he grabbed a rifle and used it like a Louisville Slugger to send the attackers fleeing back into the jungle.
